"The Pseudo Shaman of Si-N-N Networks"
Project type
Experimental Contemporary Activist Video
Date
2024-2025
Location
Santa Fe, New Mexico
The installation is a commentary on the Mayan Galactic System of time and its implication to our current conditions, as presented by a fictitious network; Si-N-N Networks’.
In this architectural installation the structure represents the homebase for the fictitious Contemporary Mayan network’s center, a sacred place, and a symbolic shelter. John Major Jenkins has researched the significance of a center, a dome in a sacred place and it references, ‘houses, temples, domes, and shaman’s tent. He writes, ‘they are all quartered models of the cosmos with a cosmic center at the topmost level’. Many cultures have left encoded information, warnings, about societal shifts based on natural cycles of historical events. ‘
This site-specific installation suggests a technological tent, a sacred place for transformation. Inside, the artist as a pseudo-shaman will act as a journalist expounding the urgency of the need as a collective society to understand the phases, we as humanity will go through, with its implications for us all. The artist, in urgency, shouts about the end of our time, the Mayan Galactic Count, the end of the worlds as prophesized by Hindu, Hopi, and many other cultures. We are in the Kali descending cycle of chaos, confusion, dread and change. Again, according to Jenkins in “Galactic Alignment-The Transformation of Consciousness According to Mayan, Egyptian & Vedic Traditions’, when cosmological dimensions align that unite the solar, lunar, solar-system & galactic plane-larger cycles of time are indicated. Various cultures, Hindu, Native American Hopi, Islam suggest that ‘they all encode information about the transformative cross that manifest at the end of our historical cycle to renew the earth, for better or worse’.
